Sam Jaspersohn
Born and raised in the Green Mountains of northern Vermont, LA-based Sam Jaspersohn began making music as a teenager— building his first computer for composing electronic music when he was 15 and simultaneously learning the art of mixing vinyl. In the years since, Jaspersohn has built a coast-to-coast following as both a producer and DJ, most recently earning plaudits for his track "Islands," which appeared on John Digweed's Bedrock 18–Signals compilation in 2016. He has since created releases for other major imprints, including Tenampa Recordings and Manjumasi Music. His releases have received support from John Digweed, Pete Tong, Mira, Atish, YokoO, Hernan Cattaneo, Darin Epsilon, BOg and many more. After 12 years in Brooklyn, Jaspersohn moved his studio to sunny Los Angeles in 2017, where he works on a wide range of original projects, collaborations, and remixes. His current sets and productions are a juxtaposition of melancholic and euphoric, dark and light, warmly clear and richly nuanced. His distinctive sound continues to spread throughout the world. In 2018 Jaspersohn joined the music collective, ebb + flow. Stay tuned.
